Transforming Asset Management Through Service Design

Discover

I had no experience in Asset Management. I used the opportunity to be curious. I ran numerous contextual interviews across the business. This work involved two sets of discussion guides. One was a leadership guide that focused on Why. The other was a delivery guide that focused on What and How.

Insights

The driver for change was a desire to better utilise enterprise products creating greater visibility of pipeline. I created to-be sessions with users to imagine what information they wanted to see. Users brought existing collateral with them. This was to avoid unanchored ideation and allow real MVP’s to be shaped, the concept was to quickly generate views and highlight the poor quality of data to driver higher engagement.

Data, Data, Data

Throughout the work of developing a new version of Salesforce, tension emerged between data quality and ‘form filling’. This became a consistent theme in the design process. Often, the low-level design would lose sight of the service blueprints during the story development process. To combat this, I created a bi-weekly forum to address escalation design decisions. This forum allows product to share design decisions for discussion. This allowed us to roleplay both the needs of users and various governance controls on data etc
